Neither. They're identical.

Identical.... sort of... Apparently, Delta has their Q/A representatives
selecting those castings that they want and other companies (i.e., Grizzly)
uses those castings that are not desired/wanted by Delta. The innards
(motor, trunnions, etc) may not be quite the same, either. While this may
result in an occassional tool that just never seems right, most of the
Grizzly products are great and well-liked. One of our woodworking club
members has the Grizzly 3hp shaper and loves it... and it looks identical
(less the nice fence and a few other options) that the local Woodcraft store
sells. I have the Grizzly benchtop drill press and 9.5 inch bandsaw and
they work fine for what they were intended.

If you can visit one of Grizzly's stores, do so. I've visited the store in
Muncy, PA and could spend half a day there.

One drawback with the Grizzly is service. Your local Delta dealer can
either have items readily available and show you how to adjust/fix things.
Grizzly has an 800 phone number.

Go Grizzly! You can't beat them for the price\quality vs the Delta.

Two buddies of mine have Deltas (one a cabinet and one a contractor) and I
used them (and like them) all the time before I got my Grizzly.

I'll take my Grizzly over thier Deltas any day. My only advice in DON'T get
a left tilt. When you start using TK blades or dado blades you can't use
your fence measurements.

I have a Grizzly 8" jointer, dust collector, drill press & cabinet saw and
love them all! I'm not against Delta or Jet (I have a delta planner, chop
saw and a Jet desktop moitiser) I'm just willing to set the machine up in
exchange of the cost savings.

I do have Delta machines and I have no Grizzly machines. From what I've
read here over the past couple of years is that they are both good and at
times they both have blunders. Seems as though the Grizzly often needs a
little more tinkering at setup, can have freight issues on occasion, but is
cheaper to buy. End result is they both cut wood well.

The [Delta/Grizzly] [model] is *much* better than the [Delta/Grizzly]
[model] which is a piece of crap. [Delta/Grizzly] is *much* *much* *much*
better 90% of the time than [Delta/Grizzly] so you should always prefer
[Delta/Grizzly] over [Delta/Grizzly] whenever you have a choice.

What Delta, what Grizzly? Get a General 650 - can be found for same
price as the X5 Unisaw and build quality is on par or above the
overpriced Powermatics.

I have the G1023SLX and it cost me $1300 with mobile base and shipping. I
had one small issue and Grizzly fixed it quickly. I love that saw.

The Delta version with mobile base & shipping costs $1700 (from Amazon)
(It's a good saw but $400 worth of good is debatable)

Do the math. That $400 could make some mighty fine saw dust!

I have to chime in with a vote for Delta. Am shopping for Jointer now.
But Grizzly does have some fans around here.

Why don't you guys knock off the petty bickering. Real men use
[Delta/Grizzly/Jet] table saws.

LOL! We have an anti-FAQ entry!
