stearate sanding discs?

Klingspor has zinc stearate treated hook&loop sanding discs for almost
50% cheaper than "regular" discs--seems to me I remember hearing that
stearate causes problems with certain finishes (lacquer?).

Anyone else hear this?

Soap? Don't think so. I suppose an alcohol wash would eliminate all doubt.
I've never had the problem. Now silicone....

Well if I used LDD for everything, it would be a perfect match!

Interesting that they are cheaper.
As far as problems with finishes, in the "old days" they did cause problems
with early generations of waterborne finishes.
